Not nearly as cold as the last two years - 2012 New Years Day - Sedgemoor Auction Centre - junction 24 of the M5 - threatening rain but dry at 10am and temperatures positively tropical!

Not a good start for us as our Kawasaki Drifter failed to start - problem as yet (5th Jan) unknown. Quickly swapped to the BMW - as ever - always reliable! Arrived at the Sedgemoor Auction Centre at about 11am - one hour after our intentional arrival time. The warmer weather had clearly driven the crowds out of their beds as it was very busy. As always, many impressive vehicles and an invasion of scooters - great to see. Not quite as many large trucks etc - maybe the cost of fuel is starting to bite........

Most definitely a grand start to any new year. Meet up with old friends and acquaintances, see working steam engines, admire dozens of vintage cars, reminisce over an old tractor and chew the cud over a beautiful motorcycle. Of course there is always the draw of a cooked breakfast - providing you have not over indulged the night before!
